Prof. Simon Podnar, MD, DSc, is a distinguished neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist at the University of Ljubljana and the University Medical Center Ljubljana. He specializes in electromyography, neuromuscular imaging, and advanced neurophysiological diagnostics, with international training across Europe and the United States. He introduced neuromuscular ultrasonography to Slovenia and has held major leadership roles in national and international neurological societies. He leads Slovenia’s only state-funded clinical neurological research program, serves on leading journal editorial boards, and has authored over 400 scientific works, including influential discoveries in neuromuscular and peripheral nerve disorders.

Dr. Alexis M. Koskan, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU), specializing in behavioral oncology, cancer prevention, and implementation science. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center and earned her Ph.D. in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on the prevention and control of cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), increasing cancer screening uptake, and developing community-engaged interventions that promote equitable access to cancer prevention services. Dr. Koskan has led and collaborated on numerous NIH- and industry-funded projects, including initiatives addressing vaccine hesitancy, digital health interventions, and culturally tailored cancer education for underserved populations. Her scholarship has produced over 45 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as Vaccine, JMIR, and Journal of Cancer Education. Through interdisciplinary and community-based approaches, Dr. Koskan’s work advances the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based strategies to reduce cancer disparities and improve public health outcomes.
