Professor NJOYA Dayirou is a senior lecturer and researcher in applied inorganic chemistry, specializing in mineral materials chemistry, and serves at the Faculty of Science of the University of Yaoundé I. His academic career is marked by steady progression to the rank of Professor, reflecting his sustained commitment to higher education, scientific research, and the development of local expertise. His research activities primarily focus on the physicochemical properties of ceramic materials, the study of local mineral resources, the valorization of clays, bauxites, and feldspars, as well as the development of technical ceramics and ceramic membranes, particularly for water treatment and purification applications. He has developed recognized expertise in the chemical, mineralogical, and microstructural characterization of materials, the optimization of processing routes, and the evaluation of the technological properties of finished products. Professor NJOYA Dayirou is the author and co-author of a substantial body of scientific publications in leading international journals, addressing topics such as the genesis and industrial valorization of clay deposits, vitreous ceramics, porous materials, low-cost filtration membranes, and environmentally friendly materials derived from local resources and agro-industrial waste. His research has made a significant contribution to the advancement of sustainable ceramic materials in Central Africa. He has also led and co-led several international research projects in collaboration with European and African institutions, thereby strengthening South–South and North–South scientific cooperation. Alongside his academic activities, he holds administrative and community leadership responsibilities, demonstrating strong societal engagement and leadership rooted in local and scientific development.
