Beyond protein degradation, Dr. Niu has led multiple national and regional research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, including the design and optimization of non-peptide β-secretase inhibitors for Alzheimer’s disease and anti-aging therapies. Her work integrates medicinal chemistry, mechanism-of-action studies, and pharmacological evaluation to advance drug-like properties and translational potential. In his current leadership roles, Dr. Wang serves as Head of the FAO Reference Center for Veterinary Epidemiology in China, Director of the Division of Epidemiology Survey, and Head of the WOAH Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health. Through these positions, he provides strategic direction for national epidemiological investigations, disease risk assessment, and policy advisory services, while also representing China in global animal health initiatives. Dr. Wang has been a key contributor to major national animal disease prevention and control strategies, including comprehensive plans addressing avian influenza and other high-impact animal diseases.
