Dr. Wang Youming is a distinguished veterinary epidemiologist and senior leader at the China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center, recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in animal disease surveillance, risk analysis, and policy development. With more than two decades of continuous engagement in veterinary epidemiology, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening animal health systems, advancing evidence-based disease prevention strategies, and supporting public health protection through improved animal disease control. Dr. Wang holds advanced academic training in veterinary medicine, including doctoral and master’s qualifications, complemented by specialized international training in field veterinary epidemiology. His strong academic foundation is matched by extensive practical experience in applied epidemiology, emergency response, and international veterinary collaboration. In his current leadership roles, Dr. Wang serves as Head of the FAO Reference Center for Veterinary Epidemiology in China, Director of the Division of Epidemiology Survey, and Head of the WOAH Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health. Through these positions, he provides strategic direction for national epidemiological investigations, disease risk assessment, and policy advisory services, while also representing China in global animal health initiatives. Dr. Wang has been a key contributor to major national animal disease prevention and control strategies, including comprehensive plans addressing avian influenza and other high-impact animal diseases. He led the establishment of a nationwide epidemiological investigation system for major animal diseases and introduced advanced statistical and dynamic modeling approaches to identify disease risk factors and evaluate control measures. His work significantly advanced the transition of animal disease risk analysis in China from qualitative judgment to quantitative, data-driven decision-making. Beyond policy and system development, Dr. Wang has built collaborative research platforms linking leading domestic universities with prominent international institutions. He has authored over a hundred peer-reviewed articles, published numerous academic books, and submitted dozens of high-level technical reports to national authorities. His sustained contributions have had a lasting impact on veterinary epidemiology, animal health governance, and international cooperation in disease prevention and control.

Professor NJOYA Dayirou is the author and co-author of a substantial body of scientific publications in leading international journals, addressing topics such as the genesis and industrial valorization of clay deposits, vitreous ceramics, porous materials, low-cost filtration membranes, and environmentally friendly materials derived from local resources and agro-industrial waste. His research has made a significant contribution to the advancement of sustainable ceramic materials in Central Africa. He has also led and co-led several international research projects in collaboration with European and African institutions, thereby strengthening South–South and North–South scientific cooperation.
